As a customer
Our library is open to everyone, so anyone can become a customer.
Karelia UAS student or staff member
You are able to use our e-books, e-journals and databases off-campus, if you log in to Karelia-Finna with Karelia UAS network username and password. No library card is needed.
To borrow printed materials you need a personal library card. The quickest and easiest way is to use the Tuudo application. Watch the tutorial video.
If you choose a Tuudo library card, you don't have to register separately. The card is available instantly after you have filled in the registration details in Tuudo.
If you don't want to use the Tuudo e-card, fill in the registration form before visiting the library, because without registration you can't borrow.
You will receive e-mail when your registration has been processed (within 1-2 working days) and you can pick-up the library card from our customer service. Check the opening hours on the front page of Karelia-Finna.
To renew your loans and to make requests, you need to link library's customer information to your Karelia-Finna account. Watch the tutorial video.
You can renew your loans also in Tuudo, but you cannot make requests.
A student from another university
You can use the same library card (e-card in Tuudo or Finna/other library card) as in your own university library. However, you must register as a customer with this form
before visiting the library, because without registration you cannot borrow. You will receive e-mail (within 1-2 working days) that your registration has been processed.
If you chose a Karelia's library card as an option, you can pick it up from our customer service. Check the opening hours on the front page of Karelia-Finna.
Renewing loans and making reservations in Karelia-Finna is done through email log-in. You will receive a single-use link in your email, which you can use to log in to Karelia-Finna.
Please note that the email address provided must be exactly the same as the one in your customer information.
You have access to Karelian e-resources from the library's customer worktations (except: Ellibs-e-books, Building Information and O'Reilly).
Another customer
You can use the library card of Vaara Libraries or have Karelia's library card. In both cases, however, you must register as a customer with this form
before visiting the library, because without registration you cannot borrow. You will receive e-mail (within 1-2 working days) that your registration has been processed.
